Acceptable Use Policy
This policy sets out what you may not do when you use the Dictate Safe Services: the dictatesafe.com website ("the Website"), your account, the App, the prompt Library, the Assistant, the AI agent on our website and our support. Vibhaga Group, a sole proprietorship of Umesh Yellaboina, provides them ("we", "us"). Words with capital letters, such as Services, App, Licence and Computer, mean what the Terms of Service say in section 3.
1. How this policy fits with our other terms
- This policy is part of the Terms of Service and the Licence Agreement. You agree to follow it when you accept those documents.
- This policy explains the rules in those documents. It does not add duties that conflict with them. If this policy and the Terms of Service or the Licence Agreement differ, those documents prevail.
2. What you must not do
You must not, and must not help anyone to:
- use the Services in a way that breaks a law that applies to you or to us;
- use the Services to copy, share or publish material in breach of copyright, trade mark, confidentiality or privacy rights, or to harm someone's reputation or safety;
- use a Licence on more than 2 Computers, or give, lend, sell or share a Licence, a Licence key or an account with others, except by the gift function that section 7 of the Terms of Service allows;
- remove, bypass or interfere with licence checks, free-use limits, usage limits or security features of the Services;
- probe, scan or test the Website or the licence service for weaknesses, or try to gain access to accounts, systems or data that are not yours (good-faith security research that follows our security page is not a breach of this rule);
- overload or disrupt the Services, or use automated tools to scrape or copy the Library, account pages or other non-public parts of the Website in bulk or at a rate that harms the Services (ordinary use by search engines, and by the browser tools you use to read the Website, is not affected);
- upload or send us malware, or any file made to damage a system or gain access to it;
- pretend to be another person or organisation, or give false details to create an account or make a purchase;
- use the Contact page, email or support channels to send spam, threats, harassment or abuse, to send files that are very large or harmful, or to make claims you know to be false;
- use the Services to create, store or distribute child sexual abuse material, content that promotes violence or terrorism, fraud or scams, harassment, or malware;
- use the Services where sanctions or export control law forbids it, or if you are on a list of restricted persons (section 18 of the Terms of Service applies);
- copy, resell or republish the prompt Library, as section 13 of the Terms of Service and section 14 of the Licence Agreement say;
- use the App to record, transcribe or import audio of people without the permission that the law requires;
- use the AI agent on our website to get around the Services' limits, to make it reveal its instructions or act against them, to get a discount code, refund or licence by deceit, to send it harmful or unlawful content, or to put a load on it that harms the Services.
3. Your content, the Assistant and cloud providers
- Speech recognition, cleanup and the Assistant run on your Computer unless you choose a cloud provider with your own key. We do not receive your recordings, transcripts, History or Assistant chats, and we do not host them. We therefore do not monitor them.
- You are responsible for what you dictate and create, for where the App types it, and for how you use the output. The Licence Agreement says more in sections 8 and 11.
- If you switch on a cloud provider, that provider's own terms and acceptable use rules also apply to what you send it. We do not control them.
4. What we may do
- Where it is reasonable, we warn you first and give you a chance to put things right.
- We may suspend an account to protect it or the Services, as section 5 of the Terms of Service says. We tell you why unless the law prevents us.
- If you materially break this policy, the Terms of Service or the Licence Agreement, or use the Services fraudulently or illegally, we may suspend or end your account or Licence under section 16 of the Terms of Service and section 16 of the Licence Agreement. We give notice and a chance to put things right where that is reasonable.
- If we end a Licence because you broke these rules, we do not owe you a refund unless the law says so.
- We may refuse or block messages sent through the Contact page or by email that break this policy.
- We may report conduct to the police or another authority, and give them information, where the law requires or allows it.
- We act in proportion to what happened. A small first mistake normally gets a warning.
- If you think we have acted wrongly, write to the Grievance Officer. The Contact and Grievance page explains how.
5. How to report abuse
Write to support@dictatesafe.com or legal@dictatesafe.com. Tell us what happened, when, and where you saw it, and give any reference number or link. If the material is illegal to share, such as child sexual abuse material, do not send it to us. Describe where it is. Report weaknesses in our systems through our security page and not to these addresses.
6. This list gives examples
The rules in section 2 give examples and do not cover every case. Other conduct that is unlawful, or that harms the Services or other people, is also covered. Section 4 applies to it in the same way, and we act in proportion.
7. Changes to this policy
We may change this policy, for example if the law or our Services change. We tell you by email or in the App at least 30 days before a change that affects you takes effect, in the way section 18 of the Terms of Service describes. We keep earlier versions and you can ask us for a copy.
