Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the dictatesafe.com website, your account, and your purchase of Dictate Safe licences. Using the Dictate Safe app is governed by the Licence Agreement. Our Privacy Policy, Refund and Cancellation Policy, Delivery Policy, Cookie Policy and Acceptable Use Policy also apply and are part of this agreement. If you buy for a business, our Data Processing Addendum applies too, as it says.

2. Who we are and how to reach us
Dictate Safe is made and sold by Vibhaga Group, a sole proprietorship of Umesh Yellaboina, 11-3-451, New Ashok Nagar, Parsigutta, Secunderabad, Hyderabad 500061, Telangana, India ("we", "us", "our"). Write to us through the Contact page at https://dictatesafe.com/contact, or by email to support@dictatesafe.com (support), legal@dictatesafe.com (legal notices) or privacy@dictatesafe.com (personal data and complaints).
3. Definitions
- Services: the website, your account, the Dictate Safe app, the prompt Library, the Assistant, the AI agent on our website and any support we give.
- App: the Dictate Safe software for macOS and Windows.
- Licence: the right to use the App under the Licence Agreement, bought as described in section 7.
- Computer: a Mac or Windows PC.
- You: the person who creates an account or buys a licence. If you act for a business, you also mean that business.
- Consumer: a person who buys or uses the Services outside their trade, business or profession.
4. Who may use the Services
You must be at least 18 years old and able to make a binding contract. If you use the Services for a business, you confirm that you can bind it. We may refuse or end service where the law or our Acceptable Use Policy requires it.
By pressing the button that confirms your purchase or by creating an account, you agree to these terms. We keep a record of the version you agreed to and when.
5. Your account
You must give accurate details and keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at once at support@dictatesafe.com if you think someone else has access. We may suspend an account to protect it or the Services. We will tell you why unless the law prevents us.
You can sign in with email and password, Google or GitHub. We do not control those providers.
6. The App, free use and the Assistant
The App runs on your computer and turns speech into text there by default. You can switch on optional cloud providers with your own keys, as the Privacy Policy and the AI and Third-Party Services Notice explain. Those providers charge you directly and have their own terms. We are not their agent, we do not control them, and we are not responsible for what they do.
Free use. Without an account, the App allows 25 free dictations on a computer. A free account adds 75 more on that computer, once per account and per computer. We may change or end the free offer for new users at any time. What you already received stays.
The Assistant is a Beta feature. It may be wrong, may change, and may be withdrawn. It is not professional advice. You are responsible for checking what it produces before you rely on it. Speech recognition and AI cleanup also make mistakes, and you must check the text before you send or use it. Do not rely on the App for safety-critical or emergency use, and check any text that has medical, legal or financial consequences before you use it.
The AI agent on our website. The chat window and the voice call on our website are answered by an AI agent and not by a person, and it says so. It is there to help you choose and use Dictate Safe, and it can be wrong. What it tells you is information, not a contract or a promise. It cannot change these terms, promise a refund, give you a licence or quote a price that differs from our price list. The price on the pricing page and in the checkout, with any discount code that you apply there, is what you pay, and a discount code it gives you works only as the checkout accepts it. Do not give it card details or passwords. A person on our team can read a conversation and answer. The Privacy Policy and the AI and Third-Party Services Notice explain what we do with chats and calls.
7. Buying a licence
What a licence gives you. One licence lets one person use the App on up to 2 computers that they own or control. Your licence covers the features that we sell on the day you buy it, which today include dictation, the prompt Library and task management, and the updates and fixes to those features that we release while we offer the App. It does not include new products or optional services that we sell separately. The Assistant is a Beta feature and is not part of what the licence covers: it may change or be withdrawn while it is a Beta.
"Lifetime". We call the licence a lifetime licence. That means the life of the product, not your life or a fixed number of years, and it covers what the previous paragraph describes. If we ever stop selling Dictate Safe, we will give at least 3 months' notice by email and on our website. Licences you already own will carry on being activated and renewed after we stop selling, for as long as we run the licence service. Before we shut the licence service down, we will give at least 3 months' notice. After the shutdown we will release a final version of the App that keeps working on your computer for as long as your operating system supports it, and the notice will say how to get it. If we turn the whole product into a subscription, that applies to new customers only (section 10).
Quantity and gifts. You can buy more than one licence at once. You can give a licence to a named person by email. They accept it by signing in with that address and agree to the Licence Agreement. You can take a gifted licence back at any time. When you do, we sign the holder's computers out and tell them. Whoever holds a licence may use it. The person who paid keeps the right to ask for the refund under section 9.
How the contract is made. Your order is an offer to buy. The contract starts when we send you the licence email after your payment has been accepted. We may decline an order, for example if we suspect fraud or a pricing mistake, and then we refund anything you paid.
Delivery. We deliver by email and in your account within minutes. The Delivery Policy has the details.
8. Prices, tax and payment
Prices are shown at checkout in Indian rupees (INR) for buyers in India and in US dollars (USD) for everyone else. We choose the currency from your choice, your location or your time zone, and you can change it at the foot of any page. We do not convert prices between currencies.
The price on the pricing card is the price before tax. In India we add Goods and Services Tax (GST) at the applicable rate, currently 18 percent, and show the total before you pay. For buyers elsewhere, we show any tax that applies before you pay. You are responsible for any tax that the law of your country requires you to account for yourself. Business buyers in India can add a GST number and receive a tax invoice.
Razorpay processes payments. We never see your card or bank details. Razorpay's terms apply to the payment. If a payment is reversed or disputed, we may suspend the licence it paid for while the dispute is open.
We may change prices, plans, bundles, discounts and what we sell at any time. A change applies to purchases made after it takes effect. It does not change a licence you already bought. We may stop a coupon at any time.
9. Refunds and cancellation
You can ask for a full refund of what you paid, taxes included, within 30 days of purchase, for any reason or none. We would value your feedback but you do not have to give it. You ask through Support: the Contact page first, then email. We acknowledge your request by email straight away. A person checks it, and once we approve it we start the refund within 5 business days. The money may then take 7 to 14 business days to reach you, depending on the payment provider and your bank. The Refund and Cancellation Policy has the details and defines a business day. Where the law of your country gives you a right to cancel or to a remedy that is better than this, that right applies.
10. Future products, subscriptions and changes to what we sell
We may offer new products, features or services, including ones that need a subscription or other payment, and we may change how we sell Dictate Safe to new customers, including by moving to a subscription. A move of the whole product to a subscription applies to new customers only. People who bought a lifetime licence keep what they bought. Such offers are separate from your licence unless we say otherwise in writing. We will not take a feature that your licence covers (section 7) and make it available only to subscribers. We may add, change or retire other features, for example to fix a fault, to keep the App working with new versions of macOS or Windows, to comply with law, or because a provider we depend on changes its terms. If a change makes your use of the App materially worse and you are a Consumer, you may end your licence and ask for a refund within 30 days of our notice.
11. Third-party services and marketplaces
The Services work with services we do not run, including Razorpay, Google, GitHub, Microsoft, AppSumo, cloud AI providers you choose, and hosting providers. Their terms govern their services. We are not responsible for them, except where the law says otherwise.
If you buy through AppSumo, AppSumo handles the payment and its own refund rules apply to that purchase. Once you redeem the key, these terms and the Licence Agreement govern your use. If you install from the Microsoft Store, Microsoft handles that download under its terms, and the Licence Agreement governs your use. Dictate Safe is also described or promoted on third-party platforms such as Product Hunt and social networks. We do not control them.
12. Acceptable use
You must follow the Acceptable Use Policy. In particular, you must not share a licence beyond the limits in section 7, use the Services to break the law or others' rights, attack or disrupt the Services, or try to get around licence checks.
13. Our rights in the Services
We and our licensors own the Services, the App, the prompt Library and their content, brands, logos and designs. These terms and the Licence Agreement give you only the rights they say. The App contains open-source software under its own licences, listed in the App and on our open-source page. Those licences apply to that software.
You own what you create with the App. We do not receive it (see the Privacy Policy). If you send us feedback or ideas, you give us a free, permanent right to use them without owing you anything, and we will not name you without your permission.
The Library is for your own use. You may not copy, resell or republish it. It may include text from third parties, and we do not promise that it is original or fit for your purpose.
14. Our promises and your protections
We supply the Services with reasonable care and skill. We describe the App and its limits on our website and in the App. We provide support through the Contact page first and by email second. We aim to reply within 3 business days, but this is a target and not a guarantee.
Except as these terms and the law say, we provide the Services "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that they will be uninterrupted or error-free, that speech recognition or AI output will be accurate, or that they will suit a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any right you have under consumer law that cannot be limited or excluded, including a right to a product that matches its description and works as it should.
15. Limits on our liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for anything that the law does not allow us to limit, or for liability that a consumer protection law gives you and that cannot be waived.
Subject to that:
- We are not liable for loss of data stored on your computer, for losses that are not a direct and foreseeable result of our breach, or for loss of profit, revenue, business or goodwill, indirect or consequential loss.
- Our total liability to you for all claims arising from the Services is limited to the amount you paid us for the licence that the claim relates to. For a free use the limit is INR 1,000.
- You are responsible for keeping backups of the data on your computer.
If you are a Consumer in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another place whose law does not allow a limit like this, it applies only as far as your law permits.
16. Ending the contract
You can stop using the Services at any time. You can ask for a refund within the period in section 9.
We may suspend or end your account or a licence if you materially break these terms, the Licence Agreement or the Acceptable Use Policy, if you use the Services fraudulently or illegally, or if the law requires it. We will give you notice and a chance to put things right where that is reasonable. If we end a licence for your breach, we do not owe you a refund unless the law says so. We do not end a licence for any other reason except the product ending, which section 7 covers.
If you ask us to delete your account, your licence ends with it, because the licence belongs to the account. Before we delete anything we tell you this and ask you to confirm. If you are still inside the 30 day refund period, you may ask for a refund instead. We keep the sale record as the Privacy Policy says.
Sections that by their nature continue after the contract ends, including sections 13, 15, 17 and 18, keep applying.
17. Law, courts and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. If you are a Consumer, you keep the rights that the mandatory law of the country where you live gives you, and you may bring a claim in the courts or consumer forums of the place where you live.
Please write to us first at legal@dictatesafe.com so we can try to settle a dispute. If we cannot, then: if you are a Consumer, the courts at Hyderabad, Telangana have non-exclusive jurisdiction, and you may also use the courts or forums that the law of your country gives you. If you are a business, any dispute that we do not settle within 30 days of your written notice is decided by arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, by one arbitrator, seated at Hyderabad, in English, and the courts at Hyderabad have exclusive jurisdiction over matters the Act leaves to the courts.
18. General
- Changes to these terms. We may change them for good reasons, such as a change in law, a new feature or a change in how we operate. We will tell you by email or in the App at least 30 days before a change that affects you takes effect. A change applies from then. It does not apply to purchases you made earlier in a way that makes your licence worse. If you do not accept a change, you may stop using the Services, and section 10 explains your right to a refund.
- Transfer. We may transfer these terms and our rights and duties under them to a company or person that takes over the business, for example a company that Umesh Yellaboina forms to run it. We will tell you. Your rights do not get worse. You may not transfer your licence except as section 7 allows.
- Notices. We give notices by email to your account address and on the website. You give notice to us by email to legal@dictatesafe.com. Electronic notices count as written notices.
- Export and sanctions. You must not use the Services in breach of export control or sanctions laws, and you confirm you are not on a list of restricted persons. We may refuse a sale or end a licence to comply with those laws.
- Whole agreement. These terms, with the documents they name, are the whole agreement about the Services and replace earlier versions.
- If a part fails. If a court finds a part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce a term at once, we can still enforce it later.
- Third parties. Only you and we have rights under these terms.
- Language. These terms are in English. A translation is for convenience.
- Events beyond control. Neither of us is liable for a delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control.
19. Information for consumers
Where the law of your country requires us to give information before you buy, it is on this website: who we are and where (section 2), the main features of the App (the product pages and the App), the price and tax (checkout), how and when we deliver (Delivery Policy), how to pay and how payments work (section 8), how to complain (the Contact and Grievance page), your right to cancel or refund (Refund and Cancellation Policy), the App's operating system and computer requirements (the Requirements section of the download page), how the licence works and how to end it (sections 7 and 16), and how the App works with other software (it types into other apps with your permission, and it connects to the services described in the Privacy Policy when you switch them on).
