Assistant
Switch the Assistant on, ask it about your tasks and approve each change, have it draft and summarize, give it files, and choose where it runs.
- How do I switch the Assistant on?Switch on Show the Assistant in Settings, agree to the slow-start dialog and download its model. It needs 16 GB of memory and appears in the sidebar.
- What can the Assistant do, and how do I use it?The Assistant chats on this computer, writes drafts you copy, changes tasks through cards you approve, and reads files you attach. It sends nothing for you.
- How do I change my tasks by talking to the Assistant?Ask for today's tasks, add a task or reminder, move one or mark it done. Every change arrives as a Proposed change card that waits until you press its button.
- How do I ask the Assistant from the floating icon?Hover the floating icon and press Ask the Assistant, or use the menu bar line. A small card opens in your usual chat, with Open the full chat for the app.
- Can the Assistant read a PDF, Word or Excel file?Yes, if the file contains text. Attach up to three PDF, Word, Excel, CSV or text files and ask. They are read on this computer, and a line says what was read.
- How do I use my History, prompts and snippets with the Assistant?Switch on one setting to ask for your last 10 or 25 dictations. Ask for a saved prompt by name, or have the Assistant make a snippet from a card.
- Does the Assistant send my tasks or my words anywhere? Not by default: it runs on this computer. With a cloud engine and your own key, what is sent goes straight to that provider, never through us.
- Which cloud engines can the Assistant use?Groq, OpenAI and Claude can run the Assistant with your own key. Each gets your messages and the tasks it works with. History and notes never go.
- Why is the Assistant slow, or not answering?Usually memory, a busy computer, a low battery, a missing model, Offline Lock with a cloud engine chosen, or no key. Each cause shows its own message.
