What does the week report show?
The week report counts what you scheduled, finished, moved and dropped in a week. It is worked out on your computer and says nothing about good or bad.
The week report is a page of numbers about one week of your tasks: how many you scheduled, finished, moved and dropped. Every number is worked out on your computer from your own task records. The page gives numbers and never says whether a week was good or bad.
#Where to find it
- In Tasks, click the three dots and choose Week report.
- On the Insights page, in the Week report tab beside Dictation.
- On a Monday, on the planning card, click See last week.
Two switches in Settings → Assistant and tasks control it. Weekly report is on to begin with, and Show last week’s report on Monday adds the Monday button. With Weekly report off, the entry leaves the menu and the Insights tab goes away.
#The four numbers
- Scheduled counts tasks with a day that week.
- Done counts those finished by Sunday, or finished so far if the week is still running.
- Moved to next week counts tasks not finished and given a new day.
- Dropped counts tasks you removed or set aside as Someday.
Tasks that had a day that week and are still open without a new day show as a line under the numbers, such as “2 more are still open.” That way the numbers add up. A task counts on its start day, or on its deadline day if it has only a deadline. A task with no day counts only if you finished it that week, and a repeating task’s ticked round counts as done.
#The rest of the page
- How the finished tasks began splits them into Planned ahead, Came up that day, and Logged afterwards. Planned ahead means the task had a day before that day began, or was in that morning’s plan. Came up that day was made and finished the same day. Logged afterwards was made already done with “I already did this”.
- Finished, by category and Goals that moved forward list where the work went.
- Time shows the planned time on the tasks you finished and how many of them had a time block.
- In words is a short paragraph with the stamp “Written by the app”, made from the same numbers.
Use the arrows (The week before, The next week) to look at other weeks. Switch on Compare with last week to see the earlier week’s numbers in grey beside this week’s.
#I already did this
Some work happens outside your list. In the Add a task box, click I already did this, type what you did, and press Enter or choose Log it. The task is made already done, with today’s date, and a line says “Logged. It counts in this week’s report.” with an Undo. It shows in the report as Logged afterwards.
After you log something, it appears in Completed tasks with a small “logged afterwards” tag.
#When it does not work
The report could not be read just now. Try again in a moment. Why: The page could not read your task records at that moment.
Fix: Wait a moment and open the page again.
The report counts tasks only, so a Just a reminder never appears in it. A week with nothing scheduled and nothing finished says so in one plain line and shows no cards. The footer reads “Every number is worked out on this computer, from your own task records.”
