How do I dictate a quick note?
In Scratchpad, press New note and dictate; notes save themselves, stay on your computer and are searchable, and a dictation with nowhere to go can become one.
Open Scratchpad, press New note, and dictate. The note is a text box like any other, so your words land in it, and it saves itself as you go.
#Write a note
- Open Scratchpad in the sidebar, or click Scratchpad on the floating icon.
- Press New note.
- Hold your dictation key and speak, or type.
- Press Done when you have finished.
The note is in the list, under the day you wrote it. Search the list with the box at the top.
#A dictation with nowhere to go
Dictate with no text field focused, and Dictate Safe offers the words in a small window instead of typing them into nothing. Press Create Note there and they become a Scratchpad note, with the recording kept so you can play it back.
Deleting a note asks once, then removes it and its recording. Notes stay on this computer and are not synced to your other computer.
