How do I move to a new computer?
Sign in on the new machine. If you are already at your device limit, free up a slot from your dashboard first.
Install Dictate Safe on the new computer and sign in the same way as the first time. If you are already using your full device limit, free one up first from your dashboard.
#Freeing a device slot
- Sign in to your dashboard in a browser.
- Open the Devices page.
- Find the old computer and press Deactivate.
You should now see
The device disappears from the list, and the slot is free.
#Then activate the new one
- Install Dictate Safe on the new computer.
- Open Account and sign in, the same way as activating for the first time.
Bringing your history with you
Your history does not move with the license. If you made a backup on the old computer, bring it in on the new one from the Import page. See how to restore a backup.
Limits
A license covers up to 2 devices at once. Deactivating an old computer does not remove Dictate Safe from it or delete anything stored there; it only frees the slot on your account.
