Code Mode
Dictating code: saying a symbol's name to type the symbol, and naming variables out loud.
- What is Code Mode, and when should I turn it on?Code Mode types the character you name instead of the word, so "open paren" gives a bracket; turn it on while you dictate code and off for ordinary writing.
- How do I dictate brackets, quotes and operators?Say a symbol's name to type it, as in "open paren" for (, "semicolon" for ; and "equals equals equals" for ===; this lists every name Code Mode recognises.
- How do I dictate a name like getUserName?Say "camel case" and then the words: "camel case get user name" types getUserName. Pascal, snake and constant case work the same way.
- Why did Code Mode type the wrong symbol?Almost always the word was misheard before Code Mode saw it; dictating one line at a time fixes most of it, and a few mishearings have known workarounds.
