How do I see my tasks as a list, board, calendar or mind map?

The icons at the top right of Tasks switch between List, Board, Calendar and Mind Map. All four show the same tasks, and the last one you used opens next time.

The four icons at the top right of the Tasks page switch the view: List, Board, Calendar and Mind Map. All four show the same tasks, so a change in one is there in the others. The view you used last opens the next time.

#List

The List is headed Today. Your open tasks sit in sections: From earlier, Today, This evening, Next 7 days, Later, No date and Someday. Later is folded and shows a count; click it to open. Above the sections you see the Add a task box, the planning card, Waiting for you and Today’s three. Once a goal is in progress, a chip under the title, named Filter by goal, narrows the list to one goal or to tasks with no goal.

#Board

The Board has four columns: To do, In progress, Waiting and Done this week. Drag a card to another column to change its status; the page says “Moved to In progress.” with an Undo. Dropping a card on Done this week finishes it, and the “How did it go?” line opens. The More button on a card makes the same moves without dragging. A card in Waiting says how long it has been there, for example “since Mon”.

#Calendar

The Calendar shows Day, Week or Month, with arrows and a Today button. Tasks with a start time sit in time blocks. Tasks with a day and no time wait in a tray for that day. Drag a block to another day or time, or drag its bottom edge to change its length; each change leaves a line such as “Now 45 min long.” with an Undo. In the Month view, a day with more tasks than fit shows a “more” button, and the day number opens that day. Deadlines show as small flags and Just a reminder items as bells.

#Mind Map

The Mind Map draws your open tasks as a map. The centre is “Open tasks”, the categories branch from it, then the tasks, then their sub-tasks. Click a branch to fold or open it. Drag the background to move around, use the Zoom in, Zoom out and Fit buttons or the keys + and -, and press 0 to fit the map to the window. Pick a goal in Filter by goal and the goal becomes the centre; the goals article covers moving nodes there.

#Search, Completed and the rest

The magnifier at the top right searches your open tasks. If finished tasks match too, a line says so and offers Show them. The three dots open a menu with Completed tasks, Week report, Reminders and Recently removed. See where your tasks are kept.

You should now see

Click Board, then drag a task from To do to In progress. Click List again: the task shows its new status there too.

Limits

Sub-tasks and Someday tasks are not on the Board, and the Mind Map shows open tasks only. You add tasks in the Add a task box, not by clicking an empty slot on the Calendar.
