How do I get the prompt library, and new prompts as they arrive?

Get the library, on the Library tab, downloads it once to your computer, and Check for new prompts adds anything new without touching your saved copies.

Updated 2026-10-10

Open Prompts, choose the Library tab, and press Get the library. It downloads once, with its example pictures, and from then on it is browsed and searched on your own computer. The Library uses the internet when you press Get the library or Check for new prompts, and, without a license, when you save one of its prompts.

#Download it

  1. Open Prompts and choose the Library tab.
  2. Press Get the library.
You should now see

A progress bar counts the pictures as they arrive. You can carry on using the app, and dictating, while it finishes.

#Get the newest prompts

Once you have it, the same button reads Check for new prompts. Press it whenever you like. The prompts you saved to My Palette, and any changes you made to them, stay exactly as they are.

#Browsing it

  • Shelves group the library by the job at hand: Every day, For coding, Servers and deployment, and more. Open one to see all of it, and go back with All shelves.
  • Filters narrow it by who it is for, by category, and by type.
  • Grid or list: the switch beside the filters changes how both tabs show prompts.
  • Examples: a prompt for making images shows the picture you give it and the picture it produced, each labelled.
What the download sends

When you ask for the prompt library, the app sends a one-way code of this computer’s id, so our website can count free Library saves (up to 10 per computer) and limit requests. A licensed copy also sends its license to download the full library. Nothing you have written goes with it.

Limits

With Offline Lock on, nothing is fetched. The menu beside the button has Remove the library, which clears the Library tab and leaves My Palette alone.
